Yes, since it is the last show of 2022, we will all be joining you this week to talk about our picks of the best films of the year, why they’re the best, and why you should be checking them out over the new year!

Also joining us as a guest host, Candice Lepage spends some time with us as we discuss all 3 versions.

Movie Review: Spirited

This week on End Credits we’re haunted. The spectre of death casts a long shadow on this week’s show even as we review another Christmas movie, but since it’s the end of the year, we have to start taking stock. So we kick off the show with a remembrance of some of the people who aren’t with us anymore, and then we get right into Christmas with a review of Spirited on AppleTV+.

While a new Panther arises in Wakanda Forever, we will first talk about some of the latest film news that has gotten chins wagging recently around streaming issues and Oscar buzz.

Podcast Appearance: Masochist Movie Club on Halloween III: Season of the Witch

I had to show up on the Masochist Movie Club this Halloween season to defend the campy beauty that is Season of the Witch, the Halloween movie that famously does not include Michael Myers.

We are back just in time for Halloween. This time around, Jasen picks the movie and he picked the movie in the title. It is an interesting Sci-Fi thriller that has nothing to do with the rest of the franchise.

Movie Review: Halloween Ends

This week on End Credits, this is Halloween! In our inevitable Halloween Week show, we will have the inevitable review as we follow up our shows about Halloween, and Halloween Kills with Halloween Ends. And since one good horror franchise deserves another, or all of them (?), we will finally, and scientifically, determine which horror franchise stands above all the others.

Movie Review: Pearl

This week on End Credits, it’s the Mia Goth appreciation hour. Almost. We are going to talk about the latest entry in Ti West’s unexpected horror trilogy about fame, sex, and sociopathy in Texas. and it’s called Pearl. And since we’re talking about one prequel as the main review of this week’s show, we’re going to make a point and talk about other prequels to kick things off.

Movie Review: Glorious

This week on End Credits it’s about to get spooky. Yes, we’re about half-a-month early when it comes to the official start of Halloween season, but we’re jumping the proverbial gun with a little end of summer tribute to horror and scary things. We’re talking about some of our favourite (recent) scary movies, and then we will see if Glorious is worthy of that list.

Movie Review: X

This week on End Credits, we’re doing one last show before a summer vacation*. Yes, it’s summer, and that means it’s a time for rock concerts and road trips, and by sheer coincidence, that’s what this week’s show is about. In a rare double review, we will talk about the new Netflix doc about Woodstock ’99 and the best homage to Texas Chainsaw Massacre you’ll ever see!

This week on End Credits we summon the lightening! We’re back, and so is the God of Thunder for our first deep dive into a Marvel movie in literally years. Movie Review: Everything, Everywhere, All At Once

This week on End Credits, we recognize that this is only one version of the show. Movie Review: Firestarter (2022)

This week on End Credits, we didn’t start the fire. That line is from a song, and not from the remake of the movie based on the book written by Stephen King. That’s the long-winded way of saying that this week we’re reviewing the new version of Firestarter, and since King is on the menu, we will tee up the review with a look at some all time King Klassics.

May Catch Up

Steph and Candice fit in a check in despite very busy schedules.

They chat about the usual topics - reading writing by women, reading Stephen King and other authors and looking past the problematic racism and misogyny of the 1980s, as well as the problematic misogyny of Dr. Peter Venkman.

Movie Review: Turning Red

This week on End Credits, we’re growing up! Not really. We’re going to review Turning Red on Disney+, and along with that we will talk about some of our favourite coming-of-age movies that you can stream in other places.

Movie Review: Scream 5

This week on End Credits, things are getting stabby. Get the popcorn ready, sharpen your knife, and slip on your Ghostface mask, because this week we’re heading back to horror town for some more meta-textual movie commentary with Scream 5, or rather just Scream. Unfortunately, there’s also some real-life death to talk about, in this case a famous Canadian director.

This week on End Credits, we don’t talk about Bruno. It’s like Fight Club, but in this case it’s a guy in a new movie. We’re reviewing it this week. and before that, we will talk about some other animated movies worth checking out on the internet.

Movie Review: Best Teen Streams & Anonymously Yours

This week on End Credits, we unofficially kick off the new year by getting into some new movie reviews. Our pick this week hails from Mexico, but it has some surprisingly familiar themes if you’re a big fan of stories about teenage romance. Speaking of teenage-based drama, let’s just say this week’s show is a boon if you’re looking for something to watch in that genre!
