Movie Review: Firestarter (2022)

This week on End Credits, we didn’t start the fire. That line is from a song, and not from the remake of the movie based on the book written by Stephen King. That’s the long-winded way of saying that this week we’re reviewing the new version of Firestarter, and since King is on the menu, we will tee up the review with a look at some all time King Klassics.

May Catch Up

Steph and Candice fit in a check in despite very busy schedules.

They chat about the usual topics - reading writing by women, reading Stephen King and other authors and looking past the problematic racism and misogyny of the 1980s, as well as the problematic misogyny of Dr. Peter Venkman.

Raising Critical Thinkers: A Parent's Guide to Growing Wise Kids in the Digital Age by Julie Bogart

Movie Review: Turning Red

This week on End Credits, we’re growing up! Not really. In fact you could say that we’re embracing the kid stuff given the fact that this week’s review is fresh out of the Disney/Pixar myth-making machine. We’re going to review Turning Red on Disney+, and along with that we will talk about some of our favourite coming-of-age movies that you can stream in other places.

Movie Review: Scream 5

This week on End Credits, things are getting stabby. Get the popcorn ready, sharpen your knife, and slip on your Ghostface mask, because this week we’re heading back to horror town for some more meta-textual movie commentary with Scream 5, or rather just Scream. Unfortunately, there’s also some real-life death to talk about, in this case a famous Canadian director.
